How Do You Express Your Gratitude?
Gratitude is more than a feeling—a lifestyle, a mindset, and a form of worship. For me, gratitude is woven into the fabric of my day. I express it constantly, deliberately, and from the depth of my soul.

When I wake up each morning, even before my feet touch the ground, I say Alhamdulillah—all praise and thanks belong to Allah. I give thanks for the gift of life, the blessing of a new day, and the opportunity to strive again toward my purpose. That first breath, that fresh stretch in bed, is a miracle too often taken for granted. But not by me.
As I step out of my room and see the faces of my beautiful daughters—my princesses—I’m reminded again of how much I have to be grateful for. Their laughter, innocence, and mere presence ignite a sense of responsibility, pride and love in me. I pray gratitude for their joy, health, and the honour of being their father.
Even now, as I sit alone in my car, writing these words, I pause to acknowledge this moment—this silence, this peace, this stillness. It’s not lost on me. It’s another blessing—another opportunity to reflect and to give thanks.
Gratitude doesn’t require an audience. It doesn’t need a stage. It’s between me and my Creator. A whisper. A raised hand. A bowed head. A full heart. It’s saying thank you when no one else is around—not for show, but out of sincerity.
My father taught me a powerful truth that has stayed with me throughout my life: “When you give thanks, you will be increased.” It echoes the divine promise: “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” (Qur’an 14:7). And I’ve seen this manifest in my lifetime and time again. The more I show gratitude, the more I receive—not always in material things, but in peace, clarity, resilience, and deeper faith.
Gratitude, for me, is not reactive; it’s proactive. I don’t wait for something big to happen to be thankful. I’m grateful for the little things—the breath I take, the food I eat, the people I love, the ability to write, reflect, and dream.
So, how do I express gratitude?
I live, breathe, speak, write, and, most importantly, feel it deep within. Gratitude keeps me steady when life gets tough and helps me stay focused on where I’m going. It reminds me of what matters and keeps me moving with purpose.
Every single day. Every single moment. Alhamdulillah.
